Monday Reflections: Finding Beauty in the Ordinary

Downtown Dallas Sketch

I’m not sure what to write about. I can’t focus on anything right now. It might be the fact that I need to eat breakfast. Letting my sugar go down might not be a good thing. I have a big day ahead of me! Today we’re having a surprise party for someone very special. I can’t risk saying anything else so I will leave it there.

What happened last week? The week before was so wonderful that I can’t quite put anything together. I know work was busy. I know the weather was crazy. There were cold, windy days followed by sunny, rainy afternoons. I should’nt be surprised. Texas weather is like that twenty-four seven.

What do I reflect on then? I reflect on the ordinary routine we follow day after day. We can’t expect for every single moment to be a thrilling adventure. After all, its the busy work which makes us see the beauty in everything. When we think life is one big bore, we realize what we do makes a difference.

We don’t have to be a lawyer, doctor, scientist or engineer to think we can make things better. Without the small things, everything else wouldn’t be able to fall in place. Every single person is a puzzle piece. The puzzle can’t be completed if we don’t realize how together we are one great masterpiece.

Ordinary is beautiful. This reminds me that I should go grab a snack. A trail-mix bar is my usual and I wouldn’t change it for anything else. See you all later.

Captain AmericaP.S. I do remember something! I saw Captain America! I think it’s better than the first. I think comic geeks would like what’s included. This is all for now. I don’t want to spoil the fun for anyone who hasn’t seen it.
